to answer your question, I have had publishers find my work online, through this and my other (non-blog) website. But I’m not sure if it was specifically because of the blog platform. Because of the nature of how visible and sharable blogs are, I’m sure it doesn’t hurt. But my primary reason to go this route was that it was an easy and inexpensive option to set up and to update.
